What is the best foam to protect goods in transport?

Road traffic law and EU standards and regulations stipulate that goods must be properly secured during transport. Securing goods does not only apply to the use of transport belts or safety nets.

When is it worth using protective foam?

As a rule, transported products should be packaged, placed in a transport box, on a pallet (wrapped in foil) or stably and precisely arranged in the transport cabin. Such placement of goods serves primarily to absorb vibrations and shocks. Strengthening this effect can be achieved by using foam mats and panels that protect against vibrations more effectively.

Cardboard boxes in the form of polystyrene or foam are most often used to protect delicate products and those that require special protection during transport.

What foam will be the best to fill the carton?

Polyurethane or polyethylene foam is the leader of this segment, as it does not crumble, is eco-friendly, resistant to large temperature fluctuations and easy to use.

Thanks to their properties, flexible polyurethane foams perfectly dampen vibrations and provide protection against the influence of chemicals and temperature on the product while ensuring air supply. They are dust-free and their structure allows them to be disinfected and cleaned. They do not deform in transport, even during journeys lasting many weeks.

Protective foams can be freely shaped by cutting out suitable forms. You can also buy ready-made profiled foams and shapes such as cylinders, slats and cubes. It is possible to perfectly match the shape of the foam to the space around the transported goods, which ensures their safe transport without the risk of various types of damage. Higher densities of rebound foams can be used to protect heavy objects in transport.
